A Festival for All
Headfest is designed to involve everyone in the community. We pride ourselves on offering a diverse range of activities, ensuring there's something for every age and interest. From our vibrant music stages to our family-friendly daytime events, Headfest strengthens the bonds that make Headford special.
Community at the heart....
Every year before the festival kicks off, we open the stage to the heart of Headford. Our Talent Showcase is a celebration of the local performers, singers, musicians, and groups who make this community what it is, come along, show your support, and be part of something special.
More Than Just Music
Headfest offers a wide array of daytime activities to keep everyone entertained. Join us for our annual 8k run, the thrilling tractor run, or the competitive soccer tournament. Test your strength in the "Fittest Parish" competition, relax with a yoga session, or learn a new skill with our guitar lessons. There's always something happening at Headfest!
Community Projects that we support
Over the past five years, more than €60,000 raised through Headfest has been reinvested back into the community. This funding has supported a wide range of local projects and initiatives, including the Men’s Shed, Christmas lights in Headford, and regular support for the Yarnbombers.
It has also contributed to the Ross Errilly Tourist Hut, Solas, and the Little Libraries initiative, along with important improvements such as walkway and playground CCTV, walkway lighting, and ongoing facility maintenance in Moyne Villa community grounds.
In addition, Headfest has supported community events and groups including the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Headford Harriers, helped cover local WiFi costs, and contributed to the Moyne Villa Astro build.
Annual Charity tractor, truck and vintage run
Each year, Headfest also selects a charity to support through its fundraising efforts. This year’s chosen charity is Daisy Lodge in Cong.
In previous years, donations have been made to a number of worthy causes including Ability West, the Paediatric Unit in UHG, Cancer Care West, and Croí. In the last four years alone, €30,000 has been fundraised for charities.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who takes part in the run, and for the generosity shown through donations from every participant and supporter — your continued support makes all of this possible.
