"Here we go again, brightening up your June Bank Holiday weekend, because Headfest 2019 is back from the 30th of May to the 2nd of June.
Yes, indeed! Monaghan’s Big Red Barn will be back in situ at Moyne Villa F.C. on Church Rd., with an incredible mix of local and national talent to keep you entertained each night of the festival!
We’re delighted to say that Headford Music Works and guests are back again on Thursday night, to bring you a beautiful evening of song with local choirs, orchestras and Don Stiffe, among others.
On Friday night, we’ll be bringing you the warm sounds of the Keane Family, and their guests, followed by DJ Ronan Lardner (until late!).
Saturday is for dancing until the wee small hours, with DJ Sam and the amazing Mike Denver and his band, and then on Sunday, we are delighted to present The 4 Of Us at Monaghan’s Big Red Barn.
The 4 Of Us are one of Ireland's best love bands, evidenced by the fave they've been on the go for 30 years now, and are having a major moment as part of the Feile Classical revival of the festival! (you can see Semple Stadium singing along to them here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIUSygNXcyY …) This will be a full band show where they’ll be pumping out classics such as “Mary” and “Drag My Bad Name Down,” and then, of course, they’ll be followed by local legends The Tav Jam Band to see the festival home!
Sure, where else would you get it?!
On top of this, there are all the usual community sporting and cultural activities, and music in some of the lovely pubs around the town.
We’ll have our full brochure for you shortly, but in the meanwhile, pencil it in, and start getting your tickets sorted at Eventbrite.ie"
A rainy Sunday evening in April seems as good a time as any to make a start on the brochure for Headfest 2018, right?
This is when it starts to feel very real. When we were booking bands and a barn to put them in back in September, it was hard to believe we'd ever get to this point. Don't you just love it when a plan comes together?
As for the brochure, we're changing the layout to (hopefully) make it a bit easier to find your way around, and once it's drafted and off to the printers, we'll pop a full list up here too. All going to plan, you'll be able to pick up a copy locally from the May Bank Holiday weekend on-wards.
Good things are on the way, folks!
Now, best better settle down and get back to it...
So, if you found your way here, you're obviously aware that our shiny new website is live! And our ticket sales link is too on eventbrite.ie goo.gl/jMLJB6
We've added a couple of new events to an already packed programme this year. On Wednesday 30th May we're staging a production by the BEEZNEEZ Theatre Co. called "An Ordinary Man," which has received tremendous reviews. And then, on Saturday 2nd June, we're having a Charity Tractor Run to raise much needed funds for Ability West, you'll find all of the details, including who to contact here www.facebook.com/Headfest-Tractor-Run-2018-2010702045812247/
There'll be loads more news on community events in the coming weeks, but you can look forward to all of the usual family fun, and most of it for free!
For now, though, we'll get back to the grindstone, but feel free to talk among yerselves and spread the word while we're gone!
Don't miss the Official Launch of the Headfest 2018 line-up, it's looking good!
Kicking off at 9pm, the evening will include the switching on of Headford Christmas lights, and a few tunes from local bands Don't Do Hugs, and The Shift.
Tell your friends!
